Shopping online can seem complicated, we have endeavoured to make the online experience easy, safe and enjoyable and the step by step guide below explains how. How to Shop

1 When you enter the online catalogue, at the top of your your screen you will see a navigation bar, this is split into eight sections and Home. Clicking on one of these links will take you into that section of the catalogue. Clicking on 'gifts' for instance will take you to all the suitable selections. Clicking 'Home' will take you to the Navy News home page. You can also use the search facility on the left-hand side of the page to find a particular product.

2 You will then enter a page containing small images and brief descriptions of all of the products in the section of the catalogue you have chosen. When you see a product that appeals to you, click on the image to be shown more information and a detailed photograph, you can now purchase the item by clicking on Add to Basket, then clicking Confirm. You can add as many items as you like and can check to see what you have placed in your basket at any time by clicking Shopping Basket in the nav bar at the top of the page.

3 When you have selected all your products simply go to the checkout and make your purchases through our secure servers. Click on Checkout in the nav bar at the top of the page, you will be asked for some details, such as name, address and credit card number. We take most major Credit and Debit cards, the card details will be sent to us via a 128bit securely encrypted file. For further information please read our security information.

Tax Charges

VAT charges are included on all items purchased with the exception of subscriptions, books and calendars. If you live outside the UK or the European Union then on receipt of your goods you are entitled to claim this charge back.

Security

We know of no documented cases of credit card fraud using this shopping system. All credit card numbers are encrypted in the software when the order is placed using 128 bit encryption. They are only decrypted after they reach our computer. They are not held in clear text on any web site.

Forms within "The Store" and "Navy News Online" are posted on a secure server. This means that your personal and financial details cannot be seen by others. This site uses 128 bit encryption for the purchasing details and are kept encrypted until we receive them. Your details will not be passed on to any third parties.

Guarantee

Orders are normally processed in 28 days or less - but please allow for postal time. We will confirm your order by email within 2 working days. If you have not received a communication from us in that time please contact us on 023 9282 6040.

We guarantee your satisfaction. All of our products come with a 14 day no quibble money back guarantee, providing the item is returned in its original condition. If an item is faulty or sent in error we will also reimburse for any postal charges incurred to return the goods. This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

Privacy

Navy News does not disclose buyers information to third parties. Cookies are used on this shopping site, but only to keep track of the contents of your shopping basket once you have selected an item.

Delivery

While we do our best to process orders and dispatch within 7 - 10 days please allow up to 28 days for delivery.

If your item is not in stock, we will back order for you. You will be contacted via email or post with the option to cancel your order if you would rather not wait.
